VJCS contracted with Nomad Software for its Cortex product to migrate PoS machines in Jordan to EMV compliance without work having to be done on each bank separately.

Under a Visa and MasterCard mandate, all banks must adopt the EMV standards for acquiring or processing of card payments at PoS by 2002.

Radwan Darwish, general manager, VJCS says: "Cortex not only permits an EMV chip acquiring and switching solution but also allows further evolution to embrace, for example, multi-application services such as electronic banking or loyalty schemes."

VJCS is currently in discussion with Nomad for smart card acquiring.
