The new Oneva name has been extracted from the French phrase "On y va" which means, "Let's Go."

Jody Morse, Thomson Financial's portfolio solutions group senior vice president, global product strategy and operations, says: "The new name reinforces two key points: the inter-connectedness of Thomson Financial's applications, and our continually evolving software development."

The branding exercise extends to: Oneva Trade FI, the recently unveiled fixed income order management and execution workflow system; and PERAscope, a performance measurement and attribution solution that will soon have the name, Oneva Perform, with a new system release planned for year end 2001.

Portia, Thomson Financial's portfolio analysis and management system, will retain its branding, says the company.
