Arab Banking Corporation (ABC) has deployed Dublin-based technology vendor CR2's ATM software throughout its Egyptian operations to offer customers retail banking services.
The combined routing and intelligent ATM software - CR2 ATM Controller - provides the bank with the backbone to automate financial transactions from self-service terminals such as ATMs and POS terminals, based on a secure card system.
Bahrain-based ABC has traditionally focused on wholesale commercial and corporate banking and trade finance services.
The bank now offers its customers 24x7 retail banking capabilities across seven ATM's, which will be expanded to fifteen before the end of this year. Clients can access account details, view current balances and account transactions, as well as monitor the status of current transactions. Non-ABC customers as well as Visa and MasterCard cardholders, issued by banks in Egypt, can use ABC ATMs to withdraw cash, and enquire as to balance information.
