Chase opens doors to non-profits at new Harlem branch

Chase has opened a community-inspired branch model in Harlem, operating as an events and arts space combined with a custom lab for digital innovation and skills training.

The new branch, which will collaborates with local community organisations to offer free skills training, small business pop-ups, and fintech innovation, is the first of six similar models which will be rolled out across the country next year.

In addition, JPMorgan Chase has affirmed a further five-year $25 million commitment to the Financial Health Network’s Financial Solutions Lab which focuses on creating fintech tools to help people increase savings and reduce debt. The investment follows a $30 million collaboration between the Financial Health Network and JPMorgan Chase over the past five years.

“What we are doing in Harlem is inspiring our work in other communities across the country,” says Thasunda Brown Duckett, CEO of Chase Consumer Banking. “We will continue to make our branches community destinations, strengthening relationships with community partners and investing in fintech that can help serve people and their personal financial journey, wherever they are.”
