NDS's Value@TV iTV banking application enables viewers to check account balances, view their last twelve months account activity, pay bills and transfer money between accounts and to third parties. Users can also access information about the bank's branches and general information about the bank and financial news.

The service will initially be available to those viewers who subscribe to the DirecTV Latin America digital network.

Andres Perez Ayala, manager of marketing, business and personal banking, Banco Mercantil, says: "All of our DirecTV customers will be able to use and enjoy this new, easy-to-use TV banking application without having to leave the comfort of their living rooms."

The deal follows NDS' recent interactive banking contract win with the Banco Bradesco in Brazil.
