Norwich Union, the UK's largest insurer, has teamed up with technology firm My Money Adviser to provide financial advisers with e-commerce solutions for transacting business online.
Under the agreement, a joint scheme will be introduced to IFAs during a series of co-hosted regional roadshows covering all aspects of setting up a financial advisor Web presence, which will take place between 30 October and 29 November, 2001.
IFAs will gain practical support and access to their own branded Web site, complete with e-commerce functionality, say the companies. My Money Adviser is offering tailored sites to advisers at a cost of £100 per month.
According to Ann-Marie Martyn, managing director of My Money Adviser, advisors across the country are voicing their desire to get on the Web, but don't know how to or are frightened of the investment required.
Nigel Hopwood, head of eIFA development at Norwich Union, comments: "This alliance offers a practical solution for IFAs who are perhaps aware of the benefits that e-commerce can bring but are unsure about how to proceed...The roadshows have been designed specifically to help advisers create and develop their own online presence."
