The American Stock Exchange (AmEx) has returned to its trading floor for the first time since the attack on the World Trade Centre on September 11.
When the US marketplaces reopened on September 17, the AmEx continued to trade in temporary space at the New York Stock Exchange and the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. For the past two weeks, the AmEx traded equities and Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) at the New York Stock Exchange and options at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange.
To honour all victims of the World Trade Centre tragedy including nine victims from the American Stock Exchange, Michael Pascuma, an AmEx floor member for the past 65 years, rang the opening bell in memory of his son, Michael Pascuma, one of the AmEx floor members who died during the attacks.
