Gentia's solution connects Microsoft SQL Server 7.0 through an OLE-DB for OLAP interface to deliver a high-speed information management system. Data from different business functions including marketing, corporate and finance is integrated, consolidated and made available online to support decision-making. Previously, the bank had one database populated with management data that executives could not access directly.

"Gentia's Web-based application deploys information through our Intranet, allowing users free manipulation of the multidimensional model, with the capability to save role-based report formats," says Joao Paulo Pedro, director at Credito Agricola.

The ability to function with the Microsoft OLE-DB for OLAP interface was a key requirement, he says.

The system implementation, which entailed establishing security levels, user control, and information accessibility through the bank's Intranet, was completed within the space of four weeks says Gentia.
