Reuters, the global information, news and technology group, is introducing television coverage of financial markets in streaming video over its Web site.
RTV provides direct coverage of market-moving events including live footage of economic indicators and keynote speeches, exclusive interviews with major figures in world markets, and a daily schedule of regular programmes, says the company.
The service will be made available on the Web site in two phases, beginning with basic video streaming. The second stage, to be implemented later this year, will include the addition of a multimedia box in which Reuters journalists will provide running summaries on the live content.
Tara Joseph, editor, Reuters Television, says: "Streaming RTV onto www.reuters.co.uk will for the first time allow Web users to make decisions based upon exactly the same information as the market professional in the dealing room."
The Reuters site recently hosted its first live Webcast of the Bank of England first quarter inflation report press conference.
