Deutsche, headquartered at Winchester House on London Wall, is looking at moving into one building following its merger with Bankers Trust, based at 1 Appold Street, near Broadgate, says the report.

A relocaton on this scale is likely to spark a feeding frenzy among technology suppliers to the German bank and its Bankers Trust subsidiary operation.

In total, the German bank occupies 1.5 million square feet in 22 buildings scattered around the City. Canary Wharf is the only location in the capital with the space to house an integrated bank.

Colin Walkinshaw, the bank's director of UK real estate, told Property Week that a decision will be made by the end of the year 'at which point we would start negotiating with landlords'.
