Swift's board of directors has confirmed its commitment to go ahead with Sibos 2001 in Singapore from 15-19 October, 2001. "Both the conference and the exhibition will proceed as originally planned," says the Society in an e-mail to Sibos delegates.

Speculation has been rife that Swift would pull the plug on this year's event, which attracts over 200 exhibitors and more than 3000 conference delegates.

The Society says it is continually monitoring the situation.

"Through Sibos in Singapore, our community will get back to business in banking, securities and e-commerce," states the Swift mail.
