The KBV/CBC Trade Club is open to the bank's business clients in Belgium, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Bulgaria. It gives members access to 16,000 companies in 22 countries through the Trade Club Alliance, which was set up by Spain's Santander two years ago and now has backing from eight banks.

This 'matchmaking' community promises to help firms generate business opportunities with verified partners, particularly in different countries. The club also has a library of information designed to help firms grow their business abroad.

Luc Popelier, CEO, international markets, KBC Group, adds: "We expect that the KBC/CBC Trade Club gives new opportunities to our clients to further develop their ideas and expand their business."

Very good initiative. Which are the eight banks? Needs network effect though.
