NCR inks Spanish ATM deal

NCR Corporation has signed a deal with Spanish bank Caja Duero to install and maintain 150 ATMs in convenience locations across the country. Seventy of these will be installed at the main outlets of Halcon Viajes travel agencies.

According to Jeff Lutz, vice president of NCR's financial solutions division for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, the number of convenience ATMs in Spain has almost doubled in the last seven years with retail locations being a popular destination with several financial institutions.

"This trend is likely to continue as financial institutions like Caja Duero see the business and consumer benefits of having ATMs placed away from bank branches and located where consumers need cash," says Lutz.
