Aon also said that it has contacted nearly all of its employees who were traveling to New York City from other offices. Aon employees at the command center in Glenview, Illinois continue to work around the clock to contact New York-based employees and their families, and further updates will be provided as information becomes available.

"We are still receiving initial telephone calls from employees in New York City who are letting us know they are safe," Aon Corporation chairman and chief executive officer Patrick Ryan said. "We urge employees and those with information about employees to contact our emergency hotline at 866.256.4154. Given the communication challenges in lower Manhattan and difficulties locating those who might have been injured or unable to return home, we are still working toward a full accounting of all of our employees' whereabouts." Ryan added, "We deeply appreciate the outpouring of assistance and concern being extended by other corporations."

Aon has numerous offices in the New York City area, and we are finalizing plans as to where our World Trade Centre operations will relocate. We will provide this information to employees and clients as soon as it is available. New York City offices will continue to be closed until further notice. All other Aon offices will be open to assist clients and policyholders during this very difficult period. Employees again are asked to use their judgement as to when it is appropriate to return to their offices outside of New York City.

Crisis centers are in the process of being established to offer the following services. We will be providing exact location and contact information as soon as it is available:

Crisis counseling for employees and their family members

Human resource assistance for employees and their families including worker's compensation assistance and other benefits

COUNSELING HOTLINE: A counseling hotline is available for Aon employees and their families who would like to talk to a professional counselor. That number is 888.437.3815.
