Under the agreement, Eontec's flagship BankFrame product will be integrated into Tantau's Wireless Internet Platform.

"The unprecedented volume of wireless transactions will define new requirements for the transmission of data between users and enterprises," says John Sims, president and CEO of Tantau. "Our technology, together with Eontec's Java-based distributed banking software, gives financial institutions a scalable, secure platform on which to base their Internet business."

The combined Eontec and Tantau solution will be available for inspection at the Virtual Bank Demonstration suite in Dublin and in Charlotte, North Carolina, where a similar facility will soon be opened. In addition, Compaq and Sun Microsystems, both partners of Eontec and Tantau, will exhibit the joint solution in their product test environment centres.
