Brown Brothers Harriman has launched an equity research Web platform enabling institutional investor clients to customise their search criteria and test investment hypotheses at the market, sector, group and individual level.
The new Internet capability will allow institutional clients to "drill down" from macro to micro research through a structured, consistent, customised system, says Duncan Clark, managing director of BBH in London.
Clients can tailor the Sector, Group and Stock (SGS) Matrix to their individual needs, giving them a filtering tool that can be used to monitor portfolios. In addition, email alerts are triggered when BBH publishes research that is relevant to clients' customised watch lists and sector or group preferences.
Clark says: "Clients have been crying out for a research Web platform that can deliver timely and accurate information in an accessible and customisable manner, not just another medium of receiving printed research. The new Web platform allows BBH's clients to effectively use our proprietary products while capitalising on the massive efficiency gains of the Internet."
The platform was developed jointly by BusinessEdge Solutions, an e-business integration firm, and BBH's in-house team.
