Telefonica, CaixaBank and Santander JV launches small biz customer loyalty service

Yaap, the digital services joint venture set up by CaixaBank, Banco Santander and Telefónica, has launched a service to help small businesses push offers to customers.

Yapp Shopping is a loyalty network for small local firms with limited online presences, allowing them to interact with hundreds of thousands of customers by offering discounts and promotions on their products and services.

Initially going live in Valladolid and Palma de Mallorca, the service will give registered customers in these cities automatic discounts across more than 200 participating businesses.

Yaap says it aims to become an ally for small businesses, helping them to realise the benefits of going digital, helping them to increase sales and improve retention rates through stronger customer relationships.

The shopping feature is Yaap's first service and will be followed up by a P2P system for sending money from one mobile device to another. Both are open to all-comers, irrespective of their bank or telco.
