US startup QuickCoin has launched a bitcoin wallet app that lets users send the crypto-currency to their Facebook friends.
Currently in open beta, QuickCoin's Web-based Simple Wallet is integrated with Facebook, enabling users to login, pick a friend and hit a send button.
They then enter how much to send - either in bitcoin or fiat currency - and a notification is added to the recipient's timeline with the money transferred immediately.
The startup is hoping that its simple, Facebook-friendly wallet will help bring bitcoin - still largely associated with nerdy anarcho-libertarians - to the masses.
