The bank is using Serena ChangeMan for z/OS and OS/390 to improve the way it delivers software to business users and bank customers.

It needed a solution which would allow it to improve service levels and implement new software within pre-defined audit and security regulations. In addition, the bank also wanted a powerful solution which would span all strategic platforms and was capable of supporting its applications, particularly its new architecture, Pl@net, which runs on IBM mainframes, Unix and NT servers.

Aline Bec, IT manager of Crédit Lyonnais, says: "The implementation will be progressive, which will allow all of our applications to benefit from the Serena ChangeMan technology within the next two years."

The Serena solution will also provide the bank with delivery of new business functions and services to end-users based on periodical releases; the addition of a new pre-production step to the existing development life cycle to ensure full pre-operational testing in a true production-like environment; and support for all types of mainframe components (languages, batch and transactional, database), with a single tool.

As Pl@net becomes the common infrastructure for all new applications in Crédit Lyonnais, it will change the way development teams work, says the bank. Serena ChangeMan for z/OS and OS/390 will be deployed in priority for these new applications.
