BitVendo tweeted yesterday that Bank of Ireland refuses to open accounts related to bitcoin "due to the nature of the business".

The firm then tweeted rival banks asking for their help, receiving a reply from AIB suggesting that it holds a different position from BofI:

BitVeno says it will apply for an account with AIB but it also has other worries after having to hastily change the site of its first bitcoin ATM.

It had intended to install the Lamassu-made machine this week in Hippety's Cafe in the Temple Bar area of Dublin but the shop pulled out at the last minute meaning the ATM will now be in a nearby electronics store.
