Compatible with both iOS and Android devices and powered by 1O1O's 4G LTE network, the new EMV-ready mPOS dongle is aimed at businesses with mobile sales forces, home delivery services and outdoor sales operations. The readers are on sale at selected 1010 retail stores.

Hong Kong has become a hotbed of mobile payments technology with all of the major banks and telcos offering competing services. Earlier this year, 1010 parent company CLS struck a deal with Hang Seng Bank to provide NFC SIM cards for the bank's mobile payments service through 1010 outlets.

The 1010 deal with Global Payments is the first struck by the vendor in Hong Kong. In August, it announced a deal with CaixaBank to distribute the readers through 200 of the Spanish bank's branches in Barcelona.
