Australian financial service company AMP has picked up UK personal finance Web operator Interactive Investor International for £52.1 million.
AMP is paying a small premium above iii's £46 million cash balance for access to iii's 1.2 million registered accounts. The company was valued at £684 million at the height of the dotcom boom.
The business will be run alongside AMP's recently-launched online funds supermarket Ample.
