ICBC's e-banking system provides a wide range of personal financial services, including online credit card applications and corporate B2B services.

ICBC says it needed to effectively eliminate risks that could undermine customers' confidence in the bank's online service offerings. Additionally, because ICBC's Internet bank system uses both Windows NT and Unix servers, it was important for the bank to implement an effective multi-platform infrastructure-and-security management solution.

In addition to tracking the performance of ICBC's Internet bank system, Unicenter TNG keeps a full record of intrusion attempts. The Unicenter Web Management option also provides rapid restoration of Web services in case of attacks or outages.

eTrust Intrusion Detection and eTrust Access Control enable ICBC to effectively manage network users' access to system resources, alerting administrators to any unauthorised access by either internal or external users. eTrust Antivirus provides total virus protection across the entire e-banking infrastructure, including Internet gateways, Windows NT, and user desktops.
