ING Belgium has selected Gemalto's Ezio suite of end-to-end authentication technology to secure its million online banking customers.
The deal will see ING customers sent Ezio Classic card readers that generate one-time passwords for use when signing in to their account online and completing transactions.
The system will ensure ING fully complies with strict Belgian regulations for online security and give customers the possibility to bank from anywhere from any device with an Internet connection, says the vendor.
Quinten Fraai, general manager, direct channels, ING Belgium, says: "We have selected the flexibility and scalability of Gemalto's Ezio server, because it can easily support multiple strong authentication devices, and expand into the mobile phone and optical reader technology."
