The PocketBroker service allows Schwab customers to access their accounts, check balances and stock quotes, and make trades while on the go.

The deal with Verizon extends the reach of the service to Mobile Web subscribers nationwide. Customers access the service by selecting Schwab's online trading menu on Verizon's mobile network.

Bob Sofman, senior vice president of Schwab global wireless solutions group, says: "PocketBroker helps customers stay in control by enabling them to respond immediately to market-moving events. Our partnership with Verizon Wireless ensures that customers across the country now have increased and convenient access to all our wireless features and benefits."
