Halifax chooses Brocade SAN for critical data

The main Halifax data centre SAN is based on Brocade SilkWorm fabric switches. The solution was deployed in conjunction with Hitachi Data Systems, a Brocade partner in the United Kingdom.

Bob Sibley, technologist, technology services at Halifax, says: "Deploying a Brocade-based SAN enables us to achieve business continuance through the implementation of dual dark fiber links between our primary data centres and Brocade extended fabric technology."

The configuration creates a single fabric infrastructure for transparent data replication between systems and sites, he says.

Sibley adds: "The SAN has also helped us implement LAN-free backup, giving our organisation measurably better backup performance."
