The companies are already using the solution to upgrade a major U.S. bank from a proprietary IBM 4700 and OS/2 environment to the Windows 2000 platform.

NCI's 4700 Wizard is at the heart of the solution and enables the bank to upgrade without changing its branch application and hardware. This eliminates the risk of compromising customer service levels because front office service personnel are still working in essentially the same environment.

The NCI 4700 Wizard solution emulates the operating environment of the IBM 4700 controller on a PC server, allowing the bank's current proprietary 4700 teller application to be supported on new PCs without demanding an application rewrite or replacement. This migration path from outdated hardware to new equipment also ensures an orderly transition of mission-critical business applications.
