Bangladesh's AB Bank live with Misys Equation and Trade Innovation

Bangladesh's AB Bank has rolled out technology from UK banking systems vendor Misys to support its retail and trade finance operations.

AB Bank has replaced legacy systems with Misys' retail banking platform, Equation 3.8.2, across 70 domestic branches as well as locations in India. The vendor says that its system will centralise processes, bring automation and improve customer service.

The bank will additionally use Misys' Trade Innovation package to streamline the transaction lifecycle and the overall workflow of the trade finance operation. AB Bank currently has correspondent relationships with over 220 international banks across 58 countries.

"Because of the speed at which we have grown over the last two and a half decades, we have many separate functions and departments within the bank. This impedes the speed at which we can respond to our customers' needs and bring new products and services to market," says Reazul Islam, CIO, AB Bank. "We now have a single centralised solution that will bring automation and structure to our business processes."
