In a brief statement, PBS says some inbound payment card transactions are not being processed. "This interruption is due to a planned monthly update of the PBS card platform on Sunday night."

The latest glitch follows a serious downtime problem earlier this month when a technical failure on the Visa network knocked out card payments for the best part of a day.

PBS last month signed a seven year deal to outsource the operation and management of its IT infrastructure to IBM.

Update Since 11:40 am on Monday 23 April, 2007 PBS processed all incoming card transactions normally again - with the exception of a short patch between 2.55 and 3.05 pm.
