Brief: Expansion provokes CityNet rebrand

London's Citynet, a supplier of streaming market data feeds for the Web, has changed its name to Caplin Systems and opened a US office.

The company's Real Time Trading Protocol (RTTP) has been developed in association with banks, brokerages and exchanges to provide technology which enables them to display live streaming data directly onto a company Web site.

Anticipating expansion in the US, Caplin has established a New York office and appointed Tamas Calderwood as sales manager. Tamas is a former product development manager at Bloomberg.
