Finexpo to set the agenda for 2007

Algorithmic trading, preparations for MiFID and high performance computing issues figure prominently on the conference agenda at this year’s Finexpo, the free-to-attend City business and technology show organised by Finextra.

Moving to a larger venue in the heart of the City for its fifth anniversary year, Finexpo is firmly established as the capital markets industry's leading technology conference and exhibition.

While the format remains largely unchanged - comprising free entry for business decision-makers and IT professionals from capital markets institutions and investment banks - the larger venue affords an opportunity to add further value by extending seminar sessions, and offering more intimate roundtable discussions and satellite spin-off events.

Hence this year’s show features a fourth special interest MiFID stream (running parallel to our usual front office, back office, and new technology streams) and a new City developer forum devised in association with Microsoft. The proceedings will be capped by an end-of-day panel discussion led by Intel and SunGard.

Keynote speakers for Finexpo 2007 include:
Richard Balarkas, managing director and head of AES Sales, Credit Suisse
Anthony Belchambers, chairman Futures and Options Association/ MiFID Connect
Rob Flatley, head of equity electronic trading, Deutsche Bank
Bob Fuller, CEO, Equiduct
Jim Gollan, chairman virt-x
Martin Jacobs, head of global projects, Nomura Group
Juan Lando, director of grid centre of expertise, Merrill Lynch
John R O'Hara, distinguished engineer, JPMorgan
Patrick Murphy, European head of operations, GFI Group
Peter Randall, director, Instinet Chi-X
Martin Yates, head of IT services, Deutsche Bank

The event also features a sold-out exhibition floor, with up to 35 leading financial technology ISVs, consultancies, hardware vendors and systems integrators represented. Finexpo 2007 sponsors are IBM, Microsoft, Oracle and NetApp. Lunchtime refreshments will be supplied courtesy of the Welsh Development Agency.
