Spanish banking group Banco Sabadell has signed a nine year contract worth EUR7 million with IBM for the management of its e-mail platform.
The agreement includes the management of the hardware, software and communications for Banco Sabadell's e-mail platform, which used by more than 10,000 employees.
The deal follows a EUR107 million contract signed with IBM last year for the management of its central IT infrastructure. The 2005 contract includes management of the bank's mainframe environment and data processing centre as well as IT security.
Commenting on the latest contract Miguel Montes, operations and IT manager at the bank, says the agreement "strengthens the relationship between Banco Sabadell and IBM and will give us access to the information technology infrastructure that endorses our bank's growth".
