The UK's Barclays Bank is teaming with security software vendor F-Secure to provide discounted anti-virus and spyware technology to its online banking users.
Under the deal Barclays customers can also download demo version of the F-Secure technology for a 30-day free trial.
Customers will also receive a discount for F-Secure's anti-virus and mobile anti-virus software as well as the vendor's Internet Security Suite.
The Internet Security Suite package includes an integrated anti-virus and personal firewall with automatic daily security updates and real time anti-spyware. The package also enables customers to control exactly what the Internet connection is used for.
Barclays is the latest in a line of banks to enter pacts with anti-virus software firms in an effort to educate consumers and offer protection from Internet threats and online scams. IN September, rival high street bank Lloyds TSB teamed with Internet security firm Zone Labs to provide its Web bank customers with a free PC security scan and discounted anti-virus software.
