Spanish banking group Caixanova is consolidating its existing disparate databases across the enterprise into a single data warehouse from NCR subsidiary Teradata.
The four-terabyte data warehouse will be integrated with Caixanova's legacy systems. The bank says it will use Teradata's financial Logical Data Model (LDM) as a blueprint for developing the data warehouse.
The bank will use the warehouse as the basis of a new corporate information system that will give users a single view of consumer and finance data.
The Teradata system will provide the bank with an enterprise-wide view of the business and will also support Basel II and fraud prevention, administration, risk and customer relationship management initiatives.
Caixanova says future phases of the project will also see the development of a system to measure profitability.
