Italian banking group Banca Nazionale del Lavoro (BNL) is to use authentication technology from Vasco to provide customers with secure remote access to its direct banking services.
BNL will use Vasco's Digipass GO3 product, which generates a single-use password for accessing online applications, to safeguard telephone and Web banking transactions.
Vasco says it has teamed with Italy's Actalis, a provider of ICT security and PKI services, to deliver its Digipass GO3 authentication system to BNL, as well as to other banks in the country. The Digipass system is integrated with Actalis' authentication and security service, TrustAccess.
Commenting on the technology, Lorenzo Marini, general manager, direct services, BNL, says: "Our account holders will be able to perform secure banking transactions without any changes to their PC, mobile phone or telephone."
