Tibco says the implementation will enable the bank to streamline the business processes related to its activities as a member of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) and as a national central bank.

Carlos Sainz, head of new technologies, Banco de Espana, says the BPM software will be integrated with the bank's existing IT infrastructure and will be used to "progressively eliminate manual business processes while improving employee productivity and reducing both the time and execution costs of critical business processes".

Tibco acquired the BPM package when it bought UK vendor Staffware last year.
