Kempen & Co signs for Reuters direct trading tool

Dutch merchant bank Kempen & Co is implementing Reuter' direct trading tool, Reuters Order Management for Exchange Execution (Romex), which it will use to connect to the Euronext LiffeConnect derivatives exchange in Amsterdam.

Romex was developed in partnership with Orc Software and provides users of the Reuters 3000 Xtra desktop with direct access to equity exchanges.

Kempen will initally roll out the Romex Trader and Romex Broker applications across the derivatives trading desk at its risk control department.

Reuters says its Romex system will allow Kempen to automate a large part of order-flow. The bank is also considering increasing the number of exchange gateways it access with the tool, and also plans to use the system to provide some customrs with direct market access.

Maarten Verjaal, head of derivatives, Kempen, comments: "The ability to automate our order-flow and access several markets from one platform is a compelling offering."
