Smartpay operates an electronic payment service in China under the brand name Jieyin. The company recently teamed with China Merchants Bank and mobile phone operator Shanghai Unicom to launch a mobile shopping service.

The funding round was led by 2b Holdings and existing shareholders in the company, including Lunar Group which was the founding investor in Smartpay.

The company will use the capital to develop and expand the deployment of its services in China.

William Shen, COO, Smartpay, says: "As the scale of our operations in China grows in scope and complexity, this financing will ensure that we continue to deliver consumers fast, safe and convenient payment services."
