The new IP network, along with encryption and security services, will be used by customers to access Euroclear's applications.

Michel Vervoort, general manager, Infonet Belgium, says: "The proposed Euroclear Bank network solution is a native and future-proof IP MPLS network enforced by strong security mechanisms, for PSTN, ISDN and permanently connected Euroclear Bank customers."

In addition, Infonet's MobileXpress mobility services will be extending secure remote access to the customer network via dial IP points in more than 120 countries around the world.

Euroclear says Infonet already provides it with private network connecting its offices in New York, Sao Paulo, Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo to its headquarters in Brussels.
