SG CIB implements Temtec data visualisation technology

SG Corporate and Investment Banking (SG CIB) is rolling out Temtec's data visualisation software, Executive Viewer, to more than 50 staff at its commodities business.

Executive Viewer will be used by traders and marketing agents at trading halls in Paris, London, New York, Sydney and Singapore.

Netherlands-based Temtec says SG CIB wanted to implement analysis and reporting software that could be handled from within a Microsoft .NET environment.

The product will provide users with real-time Web access to the bank's Microsoft Analysis Service online analytical processing (OLAP) database and enable traders to view risk indicators in real-time by displaying data at both aggregate and more detailed levels. .

François Montegu, architect of the SG CIB project, says the software allows the bank to display information in a customised way and to choose data or graphical views: "It is also very easy to run searches and to access the corresponding information at the most detailed level with a single click of the mouse."

The implementation is part of an ongoing restructuring of SG CIB's IT systems which began in 1999.
