Hungary's Giro Bankcard (GBC) has licensed Sydney-based Integrated Research's (IR) systems management software, Prognosis, to monitor and manage its ATM and point-of-sale (PoS) networks.
GBC - which is majority owned by Hungarian banks K&H Bank and HVB Bank - was created in 1992 as an independent authorisation and switching centre.
The firm will use the Prognosis system to manage its IT infrastructure, which consists of ACI Worldwide's Base24 software running on the HP NonStop platform.
Zsolt Zala, IT manager, GBC, says IR's Web-based system enables the company to monitor both Base24 and the HP platform from the same window: "With a real-time management tool like Prognosis we can see at a glance where any problems have occurred, drill-down to the root cause of the problem, and fix it before it can affect our customers."
The product replaces an inhouse monitoring application.
