Medium-sized deals pay off for EDS

08 April 2004  |  2936 views  |  0 Medium-sized deals pay off for EDS

EDS is reporting a pick-up in first quarter sales, signing 52 contracts totaling $140 million from banks and financial institutions around the world in the final week of the quarter.

The financial sector sales are the smallest component of a total $1.3 billion in global contract signings during the last week of the quarter. The largest revenue came from the energy sector at $235 million.

EDS says the contracts are primarily medium-sized deals as a result of add-on and renewals from existing clients.

Michael Boustridge, division vice president, EDS global sales and client solutions, comments: "This is a strong indication that expanding our sales focus to include more medium-sized contracts is paying off for EDS."
