Merganser licenses Charles River IMS for fixed income

Massachusetts-based Merganser Capital Management has licensed Charles River Developments' investment management system (IMS) to support its fixed income operations.

Charles River IMS is a front and middle office system providing order management, portfolio management and real-time compliance.

Merganser will integrate version 7.2 of the Trader and Compliance applications from IMS with its proprietary portfolio management application and QED accounting system.

Rich Woerner, SVP, Merganser, says: "We have found our clients' interest in analytical information about their portfolios is increasing at an exponential rate. We expect that Charles River IMS will be a key component in addressing these demands."

Separately, the vendor says the latest version of IMS now allows users to allocate fixed income securities trades executed via TradeWeb and MarketAxess using the FIX protocol.

Charles River says the new functionality will eliminate the need for traders to duplicate order entries. Peter Lambertus, president and CEO, Charles River, adds: "The ability to allocate trades using FIX benefits investment managers on many levels – making the allocation process easier, faster, cheaper, and less error prone."
