Vwd secures Deutsche Bank and Berliner Volksbank contracts

German-language financial news agency Vereinigte Wirtschaftsdienste (vwd) has secured new contracts with Deutsche Bank and Berliner Volksbank for the supply of its market news and data services.

Vwd's Web Information Platform (WIP) distributes the firm's market news and data and is delivered and implemented by its market data subsidiary Gatrixx NetSolutions.

Deutsche Bank has contracted with vwd for the processing and distribution of real time third party data from its X-Markets Web site.

Commenting on the contract, Stefan Armbruster, director, global equity derivatives, Deutsche Bank, says: "Vwd has the necessary experience and competence to supply all interested Internet portals with our price data. Outsourcing this service to vwd gives us the necessary scope to advance our instruments."

Berliner Volksbank will use the vwd platform to distribute information to its retail banking and investment consultants. Vwd will also provide data for the bank's online market news and analysis service.

Additionally, Allgemeine Deutsche Direktbank will switch it Internet banking service to the vwd platform next month. As well as the continued provision of price data and news, vwd will develop and implement customised Web tools for the mutual funds, bonds, certificates and warrants segments of the site.

Volkswagen Bank Direct and SEB Bank AG, which currently use the vwd platform to to distribute data on mutual funds data over their Web sites, have extended their contracts to include include market data, news, financial calendars and other tools.
