Nationwide Building Society has contracted with Edinburgh-based Kal for the supply of multi-channel, multi-vendor banking software for roll out across its entire network of ATMs and branch teller stations.
The implementation is part of Nationwide's initiative to rationalise common business functionality across all customer channels including teller, ATMs, call centres and online banking.
The Building Society will install the Kalignite NDC ATM platform across its 2300 NCR and Wincor Nixdorf cash machines. The platform, which will replace NCR's Aptra and Wincor Nixdorf's ProCash software, includes 3DES and EMV capabilities.
For its teller systems, Nationwide will develop an application in-house using the Kalignite for Branch package, which it will deploy across 6000 branch teller stations.
Commenting on the Kalignite technology, Francis Walsh, divisional director of IT, Nationwide Building Society, says: "It allows us to realise the enormous potential in our ATM and teller networks with excellent enhancements to our customer service."
