Wincor Nixdorf acquired 51% of AutoTell Systems in 2000 as part of an ongoing strategy to increase sales, software technical support and market presence in North and South America.

The acquisition combines Wincor AutoTell's software development and support services with Wincor Nixdorf's ATM software and hardware platforms. Wincor AutoTell's systems are based on the vendor's ProClassic architecture, which adheres to the latest open standards and provides vendor independence.

Scott Hackl, vice president of Wincor Nixdorf Banking Solutions USA, says: "The completion of this acquisition is a key element in Wincor Nixdorf's growth strategy, particularly in North America."

As a 100%-owned subsidiary, Wincor AutoTell will henceforth operate under the name Wincor Nixdorf.
