Under the deal, Euronet will manage the bank's 600 ATMs and 2700 eftpos terminals and provide Visa and MasterCard transaction routing, settlement and reporting. The vendor will also supply other ATM services such as mobile top-ups and bill payment.

Raiffeisen Bank plans to deploy an additional 300 ATMs and 3300 eftpos terminals in the first 24 months of the contract.

Steven van Groningen, president and CEO, Raiffeisen Bank Romania, says: "Euronet's end-to-end outsourcing and value-added services will allow us to provide innovative ATM and POS services to our clients, will allow us to focus on establishing and maintaining new account holder relationships and will provide us with significant operational savings."

The bank has been using Euronet's transaction management software for its card, ATM, and point-of-sale systems since November 1999.
