Singapore fintech MAS licensed Pay2Home, has teamed up with StarHub, a leading Singapore communication, entertainment and digital company, to offer remittances via the enhanced StarHub Prepaid app.

The partnership will provide StarHub Mobile Prepaid customers a convenient and seamless payment channel to send money via Pay2Home to loved ones in more than 40 countries, anytime, anywhere; while also allowing them to choose how they wish to fund their remittance.

Pay2Home payment options include NETSPAY, FAST, money transfer machines and 7-Eleven outlets across the island state.

Pay2Home co-founder and director, David Hulme, said the alliance harnessed the best of two worlds, allowing both parties to focus on what they do best for the customer.

StarHub vice president of mobile marketing, Donovan Kik, explained that the collaboration focused on leveraging digital innovation to provide customers a fuss-free experience.

“We are pleased to partner Pay2Home and integrate secure 24/7 contactless money transfers within our mobile app which customers are familiar with and have come to trust. With Pay2Home remittance on StarHub Prepaid app, customers can now gain easy access to a wide variety of payment choices.”

Mr Hulme said: “It builds on our collaboration during Singapore’s COVID-19 circuit breaker in April 2020; where StarHub top-up services were made available to thousands of isolated migrant workers, via integrated services with Pay2Home Money Transfer Machines, that we trucked into dormitories and community care facilities.”

“There are multiple synergies between financial services and telecommunication service providers, particularly when it comes to mobile prepaid customers and migrant workers. High on their list of priorities are connectivity, communication with their families, and their ability to support them financially by sending money home to pay for housing, education, medical and a multitude of family needs. We see this partnership as a collaboration that revolves around access and convenience.”

“The COVID-19 pandemic is unprecedented and we are well supported by the Singapore government with initiatives such as Go Digital and a wide mandate for businesses to reinvent or refresh in the new ‘normal’. Our scale, technology, people and delivery platforms have enabled us to do this quickly with like-minded partners such as StarHub.”

“We have seen new collaborations and partnerships set the scene in financial services and digital transformations in the past 10 months. As a nimble fintech and mature business, we’re excited by the future and there’s more to come from Pay2Home in this space,” said Mr Hulme.
