TD Waterhouse Institutional Services (TDWIS) today announced an agreement with Morningstar to offer a customizable version of Advisor Workstation, an online investment planning system for financial advisors.

"We're excited to offer this powerful tool to advisors working with TD Waterhouse at such a compelling price," said J. Thomas Bradley, Jr., president of TD Waterhouse Institutional Services. "The TD Waterhouse Edition of Morningstar Advisor Workstation will help advisors provide more services to their clients and help grow their business."

The Morningstar Advisor Workstation TD Waterhouse Edition will be offered at a special rate to advisors in several flexible packages, ranging from a basic solution of research and client portfolios to full Workstation functionality. Additionally, financial advisors will later be able to manage their clients' portfolios through automatic integration of their TD Waterhouse account information.

"We are pleased that TD Waterhouse selected Morningstar Advisor Workstation. Advisors will not only have access to our robust databases and innovative tools such as the Morningstar Style Box and Ownership Zone, but also to Advisor Workstation's powerful presentation and diagnostic tools to help them build their practices," said Chris Boruff, president of Morningstar's advisor business.

The complete Morningstar Advisor Workstation TD Waterhouse Edition is comprised of:

* Research -- This module provides daily updates on most performance statistics, graphing capabilities for risk/return, total return and historical performance versus a benchmark and advance screening capabilities that allow financial advisors to set "alerts" that notify them of any changes in an investment's characteristics that fall outside of a predefined range.

* Clients & Portfolios -- This module allows advisors to analyze accounts independently or in aggregate and scan a client's entire portfolio to create a comprehensive picture of all underlying stocks, overall sector exposure, and overall investment style. Workstation can then compile the underlying holdings of each of the positions in a client's portfolio to determine the actual exposure to individual stocks using Morningstar's proprietary X-Ray technology.

* Sales -- This module helps advisors create compelling hypothetical investment illustrations that clearly show how recommended portfolios or investments would have performed historically, taking into account taxes, fees, specific investment amounts, and schedules.

* Planning -- This module includes a risk and needs assessment questionnaire and reporting features that clearly illustrate the risks associated with a recommended asset allocation mix, based on historical performance.

The Morningstar Advisor Workstation TD Waterhouse Edition will be available to advisors by the end of March.
