Wincor Nixdorf has won an order to install 350 self-service banking terminals at Landesbank Berlin (LBB).

The bank will rely on the terminals to offer its customers a set of payment functions and, in doing so, is consistently pursuing its strategy to deliver a broader range of value-added services on self-service systems. Value-added services on the self-service systems include such functions as prepaid mobile phone card top-up and personalized ads. Terminal rollout is scheduled for completion by October 2009 at the latest. Wincor Nixdorf will also be providing IT services for the entire terminal estate.

The ProConsult 2000 banking terminals are set to replace the bank's previous statement printers and will provide - alongside basic statement printing - a full array of account service functions such as creation of standing orders, direct debit returns, account turnover information and prepaid card top-up. The banking terminals are also equipped to handle online credit transfers, with a scanner reading text from the inserted credit transfer forms. All this will mean a major boost in transaction rates, since the terminals minimize the need for time-consuming keyboard inputs.

Wincor Nixdorf will also support marketing processes on the self-service terminals with its ProSales software package, thus providing an array of services that range from personalized ads to campaign planning and administration. This channel also makes it possible to route direct feedback from the customer to the bank's marketing unit. An open interface caters for flexible program integration in the bank's present CRM solutions.

Wincor Nixdorf will be responsible for IT-services, with work carried out by a dedicated service unit operating in the Berlin region.
